Alone with me, myself and some random thoughts!

Is it just me or does this year seem to be flying by so quickly! Spring went by fast because we were preparing for all the trips we would be going on during summer. Summer flew by in the blink of an eye because we were so busy every week with something fun to do and a lot of vacations. Now it is September 16th and I am wondering where time has gone!

I love fall. The beautiful colors of leaves changing and the weather is still warm but not quite coat season yet. This monsoon season has even lasted for a really long time. Trevor and I were discussing the other day about how long monsoon season has lasted. We began wondering what winter will be like. Will it be cold all winter but not much snow or a lot of snow and be short! I hate being cold and so this winter I am a little nervous about living in our current place with having to use space heaters and a propane heater that only keeps one room warm! Will we all be warm enough?!? Knowing that Trevor is a propane man I am pretty sure he will keep us warm! We will have to make it work! We have gone back and forth about trying to find a new place to live but it always came down to "We dont want to be tied to a year contract somewhere when we are wanting to find a new job starting in May next year... and that new job may take us out of Snowflake or something."

I am going to be 35 weeks along on Thursday this week! Time has been flying by in my pregnancy too! It seems like just yesterday I was telling people that I have 10 weeks left... 2 months left....  a month and a half.... Yeah! I have only 5 weeks left and that is a little scary. I will hopefully be fully ready for him by this weekend after I go shopping in the valley with my mom and sister but I think I need to prepare mentally a little more! I am not ready for my family of 3 to be a family of 4 yet. I am really ok enjoying my time with my little girl and amazing hubby, just the 3 of us, for the next 5 weeks or longer! Last week at my appointment compared to todays appointment was a big relief too! Being put on Blood Pressure medicine kinda freaked me out making me think that I was going to have to be induced again or be on bed rest! Today my blood pressure was at a normal range and my doctor said that he is not very worried about it because the little dose he gave me has helped in a big way! But.... I am afraid! When being induced you dont have contractions that are real that you have to time. I had my water broken for me with an epidural so I dont know what it even felt like. I had an epidural so my contractions were strong but I dont remember feeling any of them! The hospital we will go too is about half an hour away from us and I am afraid that I will try laboring as much at home as I can and then I wont make it in time! I have so many thoughts and concerns because I feel like I am going through labor for the first time. Like how a first time mom would be concerned! Trevor and I talk pretty much every night about our plan of how it will go down but it still is a little nerve wreaking.  Livy already has a place to go when i go to the hospital. After the baby is born livy will be brought to the hospital by Trevor's dad and then go home with Trevor's parents to stay the night. We have it all figured out... but I still am a little nervous!

Talking to my sister and mom about it will help calm my nerves! There is just some people that are good about helping me feel better about things when I am nervous or scared or like this morning up tight about something dumb! I know this post is a complete ramble so I am sorry! My family is either in bed or at school so I am alone with my thoughts! Happy Monday Night! Have a great rest of the week!

My Pregnancy Explained....

Ok so maybe it isn't the whole pregnancy explained but it for sure finally makes sense to us!!

Today I had my 33 week pregnancy check-up. Last time I went was at 31 weeks and I had border line high blood pressure but they didn't do anything about it! Today when i went in, it was about the same (border line 140 something/80 something).... My doctor didn't even think twice when he walked in and said, "yup, we are putting you on high blood pressure medicine." I just thought... Oh great, here we go again!

He measured my growing belly and listened to little man's heart beat (which was perfect and normal).. Then my doctor sat down and started to explain the difference of my  HBP from my first pregnancy with Livy and then the diagnosis of today!

 HBP= High Blood Pressure

When I was pregnant with Livy around 26 weeks I started to swell really bad (retain water), had really bad headaches, got light headed all the time (even turning a corner too fast..) and I always was tired. I was put on HBP medicine at around 32 weeks and sometime between 34-36 weeks I was put on bed rest. It was so hard. I felt like doing anything made me even more tired and it was really hard to not be able to do anything besides take a shower every day and then lay on my side the full day. Around 36 weeks my doctor started to talk about inducing me (which freaked me out a little because I had so many people tell me it is a harder labor and delivery) I was induced at 39 weeks and was blessed with the most perfect little angel girl ever! We love her so much! If you do not know her... you need to become friends with her! She will win you over with one little "hi."

This pregnancy I have tried the whole pregnancy to avoid HBP! I went to my appointment and I was put on medicine like I said before!

How my doctor explained the difference between the first pregnancy and second is so easy:

1st time:
I had toxicity which means my body was not getting ride of the toxins and I was retaining fluid like no other so it was pretty much toxic for Olivia when I was pregnant with her. So the HBP meds were to keep it at a normal level. And I also had Preclampsia which pretty much your body is not producing enough oxygen so the placenta veins are starting to get smaller and so instead of giving my body a boost to get those veins to open and kill us both, the only choice was to induce!

This time:
I have pregnancy induced hypertension. Which just means I have higher blood pressure due too the increase in blood volume and trying to provide to the placenta too! I am not retaining water and getting light headed. I am actually really healthy and the meds are just to maintain a normal blood pressure unlike the first time when it was to keep me pretty much alive since it kept increasing everyday!

It made sense too us so much better than my 1st OB doctor explained it! This may not make sense to some but the point is I am healthy and strong... baby is doing great! I am on blood pressure medicine just to maintain a healthy blood pressure while little man continues to grow! I am due in about 6 weeks and am so excited to meet him!

The 4 year battle!!!

Today is one of those days where I kept looking at Trevor and thinking to myself "Man, I am so dang lucky." Lucky because, he could have given up the battle of 4 long years to win me over.

I dont think many of you know our "Story." So, for just a fun recap to pass the time I will fill you in!

In 2006 I graduated High School. There was a Special EFY that was being held in June after I graduated in Showlow and Snowflake! I was told by my parents that this would be the last time that I would be able to attend EFY (I had only been 1 time before) so I decided to attend! My sister was going to be a counselor for it so I figured it wouldn't be that bad! I was going to be rooming with my cousin Mary and I was thrilled for that chance to spend time with her! I went to this EFY not expecting or even hoping to find friends from it because A: I was way older than anyone attending because I had already graduated High School and B: Why make friends when you get to go away to college and meet cute college guys right?!?

NOT....

The first day was nothing that I can remember but then the second day... oh the second day... there was this skinny blonde headed kid that was super cute but who knew if I was older than him! Maybe I will become friends with his little brother who was in our same group and see what happens from there. ......... I really cant remember details but all I remember is that by the end of the week we were together constantly and he was "Interested" in another girl in our group but still acted like he liked me a little. By the last night, with the last dance we dance every slow dance together... we had a blast and laughed so much together! The morning we all were checking out we said our goodbyes and I had this thought in my head of "dang it. I will probably never see this guy again because he is from Snowflake, In High School still and I was moving to college in a month."

BOY WAS I WRONG AGAIN.....

He emailed me the following day and asked if Mary and I would want to come meet him and his brother in Holbrook at the fair grounds. After some discussing with my parents I had the keys and my heart was racing and I couldn't contain my happiness! We went to to fair grounds, to Dairy Queen for Ice Cream and then to a park. We even held hands for the first time at Dairy Queen because I was so star struck by this guy and wanted too hold his hand... haha. Yes, I made the first move... :)

That date ended and then time went by. We "dated" the rest of the summer, which consisted of 24th of July festivities in Snowflake and a movie date in Flagstaff with a picnic at a park up there... it was so much fun but I couldn't continue to date this guy that I was falling head over heals for because I was moving off to college and he was going back to High School (yuck...) and it just wouldn't work out. So after him trying to convince me a couple times to stay around and go to school closer, we ended our "dating" and I went to school in St. George Utah.

WE kept in contact a little by email but nothing serious that whole year! The following summer we picked up where we left off a little and I just thought, "Oh you are going on a mission... I will be in Utah(the land of people getting married), who knows if I will be around when you get home." He tried giving me a promise ring but I laughed at him and told him my hate of boys asking girls to wait... and off he went to Serve a Mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Russia.

Russia.... yeah right! Like I will be around when he gets home!

MAN I REALLY AM WRONG EVERY TIME.....

2 years passes and yet, I am still single (Thank You Mom for kidnapping me when I dated "Puke Boys") His younger brother (the one I met at EFY) emails me the week before he gets home and invites me to his homecoming. I work things out so I can come and I show up with Mary again!

OH MY GOSH... LOOK AT HIM... HE LOOKS SO GREAT, MATURE, AND SO HANDSOME.

My heart melted.. I couldn't keep my eyes off him. When our eyes first met, I think that same spark happened for both of us. To tell you the truth I seriously dont remember a word he said in his homecoming talk because I was probably thinking about wedding colors or something. haha :) After Sacrament we met out in the hall and he gave me a hug for the first time. Yes, I melted in his arms too.. :) I am so strange.. I know! I Brought my camera so we got a picture of Mary, Me, Him and his brother! The whole time we were taking pictures he had his arm around me and kept trying to tickle me like it was before his mission. (I hate being tickled and he knew it... but I loved him tickling me and he knew it) We went home after that picture and I came back a few days later and we sat on his parents front porch on their swing and talked. We talked about how the feeling were still there between us... and how much we wanted to make a relationship work. He kissed me, liked it was the first time (It wasn't the first time... the first time was at the movie in flag sorta and then at the 24th of July celebration back in 2006) We are now in 2009 people. 3 years later and these feelings for him were still there! I went home after that porch date and we lost contact. He got home in July and I didnt hear from him till September. He wanted me to meet him at the WInslow VS. Snowflake game in Winslow... I went even though I was annoyed at this Snowflake Boy that broke my heart by telling me he loved me and then never called me. Other details happened and I ended up moving to Utah to date another guy because this guy broke my heart and I was not gonna give him another chance.

YOU WOULD THINK I WOULD HAVE GOTTEN THE IDEA THAT SOMEONE OUT THERE WAS MAKING HIM WIN ME OVER EVERY TIME.... I DIDN'T GET IT...

He some how one night got the impression to call me late one October night after I had gotten home from a date with my boyfriend in Utah... I answered... all those feeling came flooding back to me.

After 2 weeks of every night talking on the phone with what I told my boyfriend was "A friend back home that was having troubles and needed my help to talk too to get over the problems." After those 2 weeks I realized that the guy I was dating was nothing I wanted in a future spouse and that dating was going no where and so I talked to my parents and decided to move back home. I moved home during the middle of the week and by the weekend was going to be having a date with him again. We went on our date and those feelings were there. We had already told each other that we loved each other and wanted to date. There was no way I was gonna let him forget about me again....

I moved back the week after Halloween. We were engaged January 23rd, 2010 and Married April 23, 2010! After 4 long years of this back and forth battle to win him over we finally sealed the deal!

Back to the point of the post.... I look at him and realize how lucky I am that through 4 long years we finally were sealed for Time and All Eternity and now I get to spend the rest of Eternity looking at my best friend and eternal companion and realize how lucky I am that he chose me.

August 8th, 2013!! Time sure flies when you don't have internet!

I have been wanting to post on our blog for a while now but...
A: We do not have internet at our house
B: We cannot get internet at our house because our place is not set up with cables to receive internet
C: We could go to Trevor's parents house and use their internet but we are too lazy to do that
D: We bum off our neighbors internet which is sketchy and something doesn't work for days at a time
E: I know I should have stopped at B

The point of the story is we don't have internet! We have tried many options to get internet but I am not going to pay an arm and a leg to have Verizon internet that is easy to go over your data plan! We hope to get internet again once we move out of the current place we are living but it is looking like we wont be moving till May next year ish! Well unless our Landlord's want us out before then so their kids can live here during the Holiday's... which is very possible!

Ok, enough rambling! I will just update about what is going on in our lives as of lately!

Trevor:
* Still working for his dad's company still driving propane truck... It is starting to pick up and get more busy but wont get crazy till the end of September or later!
* Scheduled to take 2 classes from NPC this semester which starts in about a week and a half! He is taking Biology and Chemistry! One class is from 6-9pm Monday and Wednesday in Showlow and the other is from 6-9pm Tuesday and Thursday in Holbrook! He will be very busy this semester during the week at nights with driving to class!
* He is training to do the Sweet-Triathalon on August 31st! He is really excited and loves how great he feels after the Tri! This will be his 3rd Triathalon (or 4th.. I cant remember) and I can't even say how proud I am of how hard he works and how much he loves it!
* Spends every available minute he has trying to get Olivia laughing. He sure loves being a daddy and he is very good at it too!
* He tries so hard to be available to help Kim around the house and makes sure she is not doing too much to hurt herself! He was a big help as we just re organized our house trying to make it more Livy proof and livable!

Kim:
* Is busy trying to keep up on a house with Livy's toys everywhere and laundry that always seems to be over flowing the basket!
* She is due October 24th. Every time she goes to the doctor, he always says the baby is growing to size he should be! Our little man is not as active as livy was when Kim was pregnant with her, so Kim has to take time every night to lay down and make sure he is still moving so she knows he is still alive.
* We are trying to figure out sleeping arrangements for when our little guy gets here! Olivia loves her sleep and does not like sharing a room so she will have to get use to having someone else in her room when time comes.
* Has been trying to start a new thing personally. Kim is having a hard time with self confidence lately and personal worth, so she has been trying to do things that make her happy and know she has done something she is proud of herself for! It has been a long road but she is making some progress!

Olivia:
* Olivia weighed 24 pounds and measured 34 and a half inches at her last doctors appointment in July.
* She is 18 and a half months! She is growing up so fast and thinks that she can do everything adults can do!
* Her new favorite thing to do with her mom is to stand behind her on the couch, wrap her arms around her neck and see if her mom will stand up. She will hold on the her mom's neck and dangle like that until mom sits back down. Laughing the whole time.
* She has started hitting and throwing tantrums if she doesn't get her way. She is slowly learning that tantrums are not the way to get what you want.. and the hitting has almost completely stopped. (Hopefully... crossing my fingers)
* She goes to nursery and loves every minute of it. She does not even turn around to say bye when we take her in. She will just run into the room and start playing.
* Is learning so many new words. We can understand most of what she is saying... but then every once in a while she will get mad at you and tell you why by using hand gestures and you cannot understand any of the ramble. She loves telling stories and talking to us in the car... sometimes we are able to talk back to her if we understand!
* She knows Kim's phone is the way to talk to her daddy. She will pick up kim's phone and hand it to kim and say "daddy?" Once Trevor is on speaker, she will tell him a story and then walk away when she is done. Most of the time Trevor just starts laughing cuz he cannot understand her or he will try to get her to talk to him again. So funny to listen too!

There is a lot going on in our lives lately and we are pretty busy most days! We sure do love our little family and can not wait to meet our Little Boy coming around 11 weeks away. Hope you are having a great August and that school is going great for those that started already! Happy Thursday!

We went to Huntington Beach this summer with Kim's family and Trevor found this awesome Star fish at some cool tide pools! He was very proud!

At the tide pools... Russell Family July 2013!

Kim and Livy waiting for the 4th of July parade at Huntington Beach!

Kim and Livy at Newport beach with Trevor's family at the end of May!
Trevor went golfing during the summer and Livy and I road along for fun! She found a nice shady spot and I could not resist taking a picture! She is such an adorable rag muffin!

One night while in Huntington Beach  Livy fell asleep like this and we thought it was funny that both her and "baby" where positioned the same!

They were talking about something... I couldn't resist not taking a picture of this father daughter moment! They have the best relationship!

1st VS 2nd

Olivia was our first baby! We have yet to come up with a name for our Little Man but we do have a good list of a few names that we love! This post is gonna be the pregnancy comparison!

Olivia:
I got Morning sickness but never actually threw up
I had heart burn starting a few weeks before she was born
My hips got wider but I only got stretch marks on my sides
I had a very sensitive nose to the smell of trash and dirty clothes
Livy sat higher by my belly button
My hair never fell out and was getting thick and shiny
My hair grew fast, I rarely had to shave my legs
I felt over energized all the time and could work and do everything for hours

Little Man:
I have morning sickness all the time but only throw up with bad smells or looking at something nasty like a dirty diaper
I still have not had heart burn but I will get it if I eat too much Dairy
My hips have gotten smaller and my belly is bigger this time but the only place I have stretch marks is on my hips
I have a very sensitive nose to everything! There calls it my blood hound nose!
He sits on my hips all the time which makes it hard to walk and stand sometimes (I feel like I have started the pregnancy waddle because it is hard to move my legs when he is sitting there)
My hair falls out in big bundles and is dry! (I feel like I am gonna be bald by the time I have him)
My hair has been about the same length for a while now and I feel the hair on my legs by the end of the day after a shave
I have a small amount of energy and I have to plan out my days so I have enough energy to get the priorities done! (I mark that up to having to chase a toddler and keep her out of things most of the time)

That is all that I can think of right now! I sure love the fact that being pregnant is such a blessing to be able to grow a human being inside me and have all the nutrients needed to provide for him! I am grateful for where I am now and I am so happy with my life! I feel very blessed to have all the things I have and to be married to such an amazing man that helps me everyday because I cant seem to do it all myself these days! Livy is such a bundle of joy and I love her with all my heart! I sure do love my little family! Trevor and Olivia are my whole world and I can't wait to meet Mr. Sr. in 4 months!

The update you have been waiting for

So I know I have said for the past 2 months that I will post updates on some of our vacations and I finally have time to do so! This is going to be super long so you are welcome to just look at pictures! I actually wish i would have taken more pictures but oh well!

In April was Trevor and my 3rd Anniversary! We talked about how many vacations we had coming up this summer so we decided to not spend any money! Unknown to me, Trevor went against that decision! He went to the flower shop in town and bought me a bouquet of a dozen roses and some other flowers mixed in! (My phone died with the picture of those flowers on them so sorry I dont have a picture to show you) I love when we buy's me flowers! He seems to do it when I least expect it! It made our uneventful Anniversary Day with no date night or anything that much more special! We put in a movie and put Livy to bed early and just enjoyed time together.. just the 2 of us! It was perfect and I couldn't have imagined it any other way!

We got talking that night that maybe we should take a quick trip to the valley so we could go see my sisters new baby (which she was still a new baby and we wanted to see her for the first time in all her newborn glory... she is perfect in every way) So the next day I got online and purchased a one night stay at a hotel by the Phoenix Zoo and we were making plans to head out after Trevor was done with work on Friday! We got to see our new niece Margot (who like I said before is perfect and precious in every way... but how could she not when she comes from such a good looking family) and my sister who I don't see very often and we got to see our niece Mila who is still the cutest older sister by far! Friday night we went back to our hotel which was in a sketchy neighborhood but the reviews were that it was very safe and a great place to stay! We went to the heated outdoor pool (which is what the front desk told us... boy were they wrong) Once Livy's lips were purple we went inside to give her a warm bath which was just about as warm as the pool was advertised. We finally got settled into bed after wrestling Livy to sleep and as I was putting ear plug number 1 in 3 loud bangs echoed through the hotel! I looked at Trevor and asked if I was wrong or if that was a car back firing! He then looked at me and said "Just go to sleep. You don't want to know what really was." He got up out of bed, dead bolted the door and checked on Livy and came to bed! After a long night of tosing and turning because my mind was now set that the "Car back Fire" was really gun shots and they were coming to get us, we went to eat breakfast the next morning and then head to the Phoenix Zoo! If you do not know Trevor and I very well here is a little piece of info that you might need to know.... We love Zoo's! We have said since the day we got engaged that when we are way older and our kids are grown we want to take them to Zoo's every where (and they will say every time we pull up to one "Seriously mom and dad... Another Zoo?" Any ways... here are some pictures from the Zoo! That is all we did, besides get sunburned at the Zoo and then drive the 3 hours home!

We forgot our camera at the hotel so Trevor drove back to get it! So Livy and I went into the Zoo at 10am and first thing we did was go too the splash pad! She was completely soaked in 5 minutes! This is Trevor with Livy who kept looking at the water wanting to go back in!

More towards the middle of the day so there were a lot of kids running around playing on the splash pad. Livy would sit on the alligators head and roar!

happy dad and concerned Livy about the bird that was behind me walking towards us!

Livy enjoying the shade in the blazing heat

She fell asleep right as we were walking the last section of the Zoo! She was exhausted from the sun and splash pad in the morning! We put her in the car and she fell right back to sleep once she ate something!

In May Trevor was invited by his dad to go help Irrigate Trevor's Grandparents lawn! When ever they irrigate during the summer all the cousins go and play in the water! It was really cold water so no one expected to play in it and most came to help clean up the yard! It was a great day to get out of the house and was very beautiful! Trevor enjoyed cleaning the yard and irrigating! I sat on a chair because I was still going through early pregnancy morning sickness! Livy on the other hand saw the water and jumped right in! She was not dressed for the occasion at all so I am glad we brought extra clothes just in case!

See.. Eden was in long pants and a jacket! That is how chilly it was! it warmed up to be beautiful but was chilly in the morning!

Livy wanted to play in the water... there was no stopping her from it!

No, Trevor is not getting mad at her but trying to get her to look at the camera!

Still trying to get her to stand still and smile for the camera!

Had to bundle up in a towel after a while because she was so cold with blue lips!
At the end of May we went on vacation with Trevor's family! There were 22 of us there total! We went to his parents time share at Indio, California! They went back while Trevor was on his mission and loved it so much that they decided last year to book it again! The only 2 people that were not able to come was Trevor sister's husband Spencer! He flew to Phoenix the Tuesday before we went but had to fly back the following day because of work! We were very sad that he had to leave! I always love sitting down and talking to him! He is such a hard worker and a great husband and father! The other person that wasn't able to come was Trevor's youngest brother Bo! He is currently serving a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Mexico and wont be finishing his mission till March 2014! We were sad he wasn't able to be there with us but we were glad he was where he needed to be! We got there on a Wednesday and drove home the following Wednesday! It was perfect weather and great company! I sure do love being a part of the Russell family! We were able to go too Newport beach Saturday (2 hour drive... but it was a better option than staying at the resort with the 230 families that checked in for the Holiday weekend) We had a blast and are so grateful to the Russell's for providing it for all of us!

What the front of the Resort looks like

Just about to jump into the pool for the first time

The first time waking up there! Fixing little goof balls hair!

Livy loved the kid pool! They go from a beach to walking in to about 1 foot deep! With shade at the deeper end! Perfect for little babies to play in!

What Trevor called "The Beached Whale Pose" and Livy trying to save the whale

Livy chasing Eden! And some randon kid and mom!

Saying Hi to mom at the entrance to our room!

She loved to snuggle! Even in the water!

At the beach! Trevor was buried by his brothers and Livy would climb on him and throw sand at his face! She got in trouble for it!

I think this is the only picture of me we got the whole time! So glad we didn't get more! haha
In 3 weeks we will be heading back to L.A California for my Miller family reunion and the a week with my family in a beach house at Huntington Beach! We are super excited! Can't wait to see all my siblings! And the Miller family that I haven't seen in years! Holy Cow it is Friday! Have a great weekend! I will post more pictures later of our new place once we get organized and livable!
